How it works

  1. 1

    Join the waitlist

About a minute: your email, your age, who you’d like to meet, and your borough. Free, and no card.

  2. 2

    Talk to the matchmaker

A 15-minute interview in four short parts, out loud or by chat: your day to day, what you’re looking for (goals, type, work, education), must-haves and dealbreakers, and first dates. Keep chatting any time after.

  3. 3

    Your batch opens

We open one part of the waitlist at a time. Until yours opens, no matching happens and nobody sees your profile. We email you when it does.

  4. 4

At least 2 intros a month

More when we find a strong fit. We check ID and a photo before any intro, and you decide whether to meet.

How Pearkite decides two people fit

Every intro comes with the matchmaker’s reasons, drawn from both of your interviews, and the one thing worth knowing.

Who you’dclick withWho’d clickwith youYourintros
An intro only happens in the overlap: both of your interviews have to point to each other, not just one.

It gets to know you, then helps you choose well

Everything it knows comes from you, and you see everything it works out.

What you tell it

  1. Join1 minuteYour age, who you’d like to meet, and where you live.
  2. Talk or chat with the matchmaker15 minutes out loud, or by textYour goals, your type, work and education if they matter, and which things are must-haves. Keep chatting after, and your notes keep up.
  3. Its questions for youWhen they’d helpIt asks where you stand on what people who’d match you filter on, like kids or smoking, so it can rule pairs in or out.
  4. Your profileAny timeChange anything, whenever you like.

What it shows you

  • Your matchmaker notesWhat it took from your interview, in plain words, yours to edit.
  • Your poolWhich filters narrow it most, and the small changes that would widen it.
  • Your introsWhat was checked both ways, and why we think you’d click.

Nobody else sees any of it before your batch opens.

From the interview

  1. Matchmaker: You mentioned height. Is that a true must-have, or a nice-to-have?

  2. You: Honestly? Nice-to-have.

  3. Matchmaker: Got it. I’ll note it as a nice-to-have, not a filter.

What an intro looks like

Your intro this month

31 · Brooklyn · physical therapist

Based on careful review, we believe you’re both a good fit.

Checked both ways

  • Meets all your must-havesKind, curious, keeps their plans
  • Wants the same thingLong-term, open to kids someday
  • The type you describedTall and active, like you said
  • Work and educationGraduate degree, works in health care
  • Inside each other’s filtersAges, distance, and who you each want to meet
  • No dealbreakersNone crossed, on either side

Why we think you’d click

  • You both want something long-term and said so in the first minute.
  • Early weekend mornings, long walks, and a strong dislike of loud places.

Worth knowing: you’re a night owl, and they’re up at six.

The matchmaker’s read from both interviews, not a score or a promise. Your feedback after the date shapes the next intro.

  1. Dealbreakers first

When people judged a possible partner, dealbreakers weighed more heavily than dealmakers.

Jonason, Garcia, Webster, Li & Fisher (2015)

Your interview asks for them directly, and an intro never crosses one on either side.

  2. The relationship you want

Across 43 studies of couples, how the relationship itself felt, like feeling appreciated and seeing a partner as committed, predicted its quality far better than either person’s individual traits.

    Joel and colleagues (2020)

We match on what you both want the relationship to be and how you live day to day, not on a checklist of traits.

  3. Learning from real meetings

Because nobody can predict two people’s chemistry from profiles, what happens when they actually meet is the best guide.

    Joel, Eastwick & Finkel (2017)

After every intro, you tell us how it went, and the next one is chosen with that in mind.

  1. 1Your interview
  2. 2A picked intro
  3. 3You meet
  4. 4You tell us how it went
Then the next intro is chosen with what you said in mind.

Why dating apps wear people out

It isn’t you. Research on online dating points at the format itself, and each finding shaped how Pearkite works.

  • Chance of saying yesProfiles seen →
The pattern Pronk & Denissen (2020) reported, drawn as an illustration, not their data.

    More choice, more rejecting

In experiments, people grew more likely to reject each new profile the longer they kept browsing.

    Pronk & Denissen (2020)

No swiping. You get at least two intros a month, each one picked for you.

  • What yousay you wantWho youclick withA smaller overlap than most people expect

    Profiles miss what matters

The traits people say they want didn’t predict who they actually felt drawn to in person. Even more than 100 questionnaire measures couldn’t predict which two people would click.

    Eastwick & Finkel (2008); Joel, Eastwick & Finkel (2017)

We don’t pretend to predict chemistry. We pick a well-matched first meeting, then learn from how it went.

  • An app: endless profiles

Pearkite: at least 2 intros a month

An app shows endless profiles. Pearkite sends at least two picked intros a month.

    Algorithms without evidence

A major review found no good evidence that dating sites’ matching formulas predict who will be happy together, and warned that browsing profiles leads people to shop for partners like products.

Finkel, Eastwick, Karney, Reis & Sprecher (2012)

A matchmaker’s read of you in your own words, and intros that explain themselves.

Questions

Is matching live yet?

Not yet. Pearkite is a waitlist right now. Matching and intros start when your batch opens, and we email you before that happens.

Who can join?

Adults 18 and older. We’re starting in New York City’s five boroughs. If you live somewhere else, you can still join, and we’ll email you when we open near you. Any gender, meeting anyone. Joining is free.

What’s the interview like?

About 15 minutes with an AI matchmaker, in four short parts. Talk out loud, or chat by text if you’d rather. You can stop and finish later, and keep chatting after to add more: your notes update as you go.

Is the matchmaker a person?

The interviewer is an AI, and it says so. It never asks for your last name, address, workplace, or anything financial.

What does the founding month include?

$29.99 covers your first month of membership with at least 2 intros, and founding members are first in line: when a batch opens, we make their intros first. The month starts when your batch opens, not today. It’s charged once, and nothing renews unless you agree to it when your batch opens.

How do refunds work?

You can cancel the founding month with no fee within 3 business days of signing, as New York law provides. After that it isn’t refundable, except in the cases your contract covers, like moving away or missed intros. And if no batch has opened by January 31, 2027, we refund every founding payment automatically.

How do you decide two people are a good fit?

The matchmaker reads both interviews and checks both ways: each other’s filters, must-haves, dealbreakers, what you each want the relationship to be, and the type, work, or education you said matter. Then it looks at how you live day to day. Every intro shows what it checked, why it thinks you’d click, and anything worth knowing. Nobody can predict chemistry from profiles, so there’s no score, and your feedback after each intro shapes the next one.

What if my filters are too narrow?

Your profile page shows what share of members fit your filters both ways, which filter narrows it most, and what widening your age range or distance would do. It also asks where you stand on things people who’d match you often care about, like kids or smoking. Shares are rounded, only you see them, and they appear once enough people have joined near you.

Why do you open in batches?

A matchmaker is only as good as the people in it. If we opened to everyone at once, most people would wait months for a first intro. So we open one segment at a time, such as one borough and age range, once enough people in it fit each other to give everyone at least 2 intros a month.

When will my batch open?

It depends on who joins near you and who they’d like to meet, so there’s no date yet, and we won’t guess. We’ll email you when it opens. If no batch has opened by January 31, 2027, every founding payment is refunded automatically.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Pearkite works in your phone’s browser, on any phone or computer, with nothing to install.

Does everyone pay the same?

Yes. One price for everyone, whatever your gender and whoever you’d like to meet.

What happens to my answers?

We keep them to run the waitlist and, once your batch opens, to find your intros. We don’t sell them or share them without your written consent. Delete your account any time and we erase them.

Fewer, better intros, picked for both of you. Get on the list.
